Hey everyone,

Writing the Contextual Analysis was a confusing topic to understand while doing the paper, but I am hoping that I managed to figure out the way to do this paper by the time that I finished. I was going to continue on the topic New Hovis subject but eventually decided against it based on the fact that I didn't know what else to add to my paper about it.

I finally finished my paper last week and I was able to pick a topic two weeks ago. I chose to use the New Hovis Ad commercial. I chose this because it was something I could explain pretty well with quite a bit of detail. I was worried about the length at first but ended up going over 50 words over the required amount so it wasn't too bad. I am extremely glad to be done with the paper though!

Rhetorical Analysis subject

For my Rhetorical Analysis paper, I am going to be using ethos, logos, and pathos to describe how a drunk driving billboard will affect the the people reading it.

As I read the first chapter, I learned many ways to use argument, whether it is to persuade, inform, mediate, or even to just make a decision more clear. I learned that there are three types of argument; logos, pathos, and ethos, all which make their points clear in different ways. I had never thought of argument in this way and although it is to make a point as I originally believed, argument is a lot more in depth. I enjoyed reading some of the chapter, although it was at times repetitive, because it showed me different ways to show my argument and use it in real life.
